Convenient Grand Hotel, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

Our intention when we flew from Cambodia to Thailand was to only stay one night in Bangkok and take the train to southern Thailand.  We booked a hotel near the airport so we could rest and catch up on some zzz's.  We booked the Convenient Grand Hotel for it's price and closeness to the airport.  When we got to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked this hotel.

The hotel offers free airport pick so we met our driver and away we went to our hotel.  The hotel is right next to the airport, but with all the traffic and no direct route it was a bit further than we expected.  The trip from the airport took about 15 or so minutes.

Our room was big and the beds were comfortable.  They even had body pillows on the beds.  The linens were fresh and crisp.  The bathroom was big with a tub which the kids loved however there was no shower curtain so the floor got all wet.  We stayed on the 7th floor and the room was very quiet.  The hotel is quite big and I think we were the only ones staying on our floor.

The hotel had a nice, refreshing pool to swim in and a kids pool attached.  There are also a few hawker stalls across the street that serve some great food.

Breakfast was a nice buffet. There were two separate restaurants with buffets in each of them. One was western and the other Asian. We were escorted to the western buffet which was fine.  The food was great.  But the big bonus was the kids play area in the restaurant that the kids loved playing on.  The kids played while we enjoyed a nice breakfast.

Wifi was out when we were there and they had no idea when it would be fixed. They had a semi-permanant sign on the front desk about the internet being broken. Maybe it was broken all the time due to the isolated area, but this was the only downside to this hotel.  We needed to get some work done and there were no internet cafes around either.  This being why we decided to stay in Bangkok longer than one night.

We would stay here again but only for one night and only if the internet was fixed. Nice hotel, friendly staff, big clean rooms, great pool and kids play area.

Anyone have a hotel they recommend near the Bangkok airport?
