Orange Pekoe Guesthouse, Kuala Lumpur

Located in the heart of the Golden Triangle on a quiet street is a perfect little guesthouse we stayed at on our most recent trip to Kuala Lumpur.  The Orange Pekoe Guesthouse was formally known as The Nest.  There are several floors with rooms for all budgets.  We stayed in the family room which was quite large and had great air con.  The beds were very comfortable and the linens crisp and clean.  The bathroom was clean and water pressure perfect!  This guesthouse is very modern and very clean!  It has a sort of Ikea feel.  The curtains are beautiful and they make the room dark so the kids weren't up at sunrise.

Breakfast was light, but filling.  The kids loved waking up and making their own breakfast.  Every morning the selections varied but standard was the toast, cereal, peanut butter, jams, fresh fruit and unlimited coffee, tea and hot chocolate.  One morning we were treated to a variety of Malaysian specialties.  Yummy!

The staff was incredibly friendly.  Our kids especially loved Kakak who ensured the guesthouse was always clean.  Mac and Fahmy who both worked the reception desk were so incredibly helpful no matter where we wanted to go.

The location of the guesthouse is very central to all the big tourist attractions.  A big bonus is the free GoKL bus one block away.  The monorail station is also 2 blocks away next to 3 malls and the famous food street, Jalan Alor, is also 2 blocks away.  Two blocks away is party central, but since the guesthouse is on a side street you hear no noise.

The WiFi in the rooms worked great and was very fast.  We had no problems working on line.  We love Orange Pekoe Guesthouse and would definitely stay here again.  We felt safe and welcome!

Anyone else stay here or have a guesthouse in KL they love?
